Whether we base on the great religious prophecies (Biblical, Koranic ...) or on the simple logic associated with the observation of facts and history, the New World Order will inevitably have an end (see also: Life and Death of Systems, The law of degradation or increase of disorder and chaos). We can then ask ourselves the question of his succession. What will succeed this order, this system, this "civilization"? What kind of life will human beings and other terrestrial living beings then know? A small idea of the future may also result from the study of the past and the observation of the present and universal laws. The conjugation of the continuous expansion of the Spirit or of Life animating the matter and the inertia of the latter produces a cyclic spiral or helical movement of the material or systemic organization and therefore of the consciousness which is closely associated with it. In other words, history may seem cyclical or repetitive, but never reproduces itself identically. The transition from one turn to the next represents a form of evolution of consciousness, a kind of more sophisticated organization, an improvement of certain conditions ... If plant species generally operate in a…
The more the current world drama unfolds, the more I am amazed by how closely we are following the path that the ancient Roman Empire followed toward its final collapse. Dmitry Orlov, another student of civilization collapse, seem to think in the same way. In a post on his blog, he notes how Julian Assange could be the first martyr for truth of modern times, he calls him "St. Julian." Says Orlov:
The story presented needs a premise: There is little information on the network and there is only a documentary broadcast exclusively by the US television network Sci-Fi i in 1998, called ”The Secret KGB Abduction Files” (The secrets. abdubción files of the KGB) is really difficult to find objective evidence that could confirm the veracity of the report.
The weekend just gone, Manifestation 23, marked a seismic shift in the five month battle between the Gilets Jaunes and the French state. The Notre Dame fire has brought into the open the strategic shift in public opinion that has occurred over the winter; shifts all to the advantage of the Gilets Jaunes. While the cold winter months with their looming darkness only allowed us to glimpse two equal parties grinding away at each other in the gloom, the advent of spring and its clear light, reveals how the Gilets are gathering reserves of strength all over France, and how, now, they are slowly winning in Paris as well. The sight of French police surrounding Notre Dame and denying access to its ‘own’ population, starkly illustrates what the state seeks to deny. After all, these sort of monuments are the materiality through which states demonstrates their connection to the population, their right to rule and their own power.
I have been lonely in my concern with the dire economic implications of robotics, but now Clarity Press has provided me with some company by publishing The Artificial Intelligence Contagion by David Barnhizer and Daniel Barnhizer. It is telling as to the irrelevance of the economics profession that the coauthors are lawyers. The concerns about robots and artificial intelligence have come from scientists who express worries about killer robots with super intelligence taking over from dumber humans with less capabilities. Possibly, but it is more likely that these kind of concerns stem from an incorrect model or understanding of mind, consciousness, and creativity. I do wish that Michael Polanyi were still with us to give us his take on our proclivity to attribute intelligence to machines.
